Hero Ride

This year my cycling challenge is for Help for Heroes again. I’m taking part in the “Dawn Raid” a 100 jaunt from the Tedworth House Recovery Centre to Blackheath (96 miles) to meet up with all the other riders coming from all parts of the country and the Big Battlefield Bike Ride team who will have ridden from Brussels to Paris and then jumped on the Eurostar to join us for the last ten miles via a wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph to ride down the Mall to finish on Horse Guards Parade. It’s a fantastic experience and one I loved last year. I am slightly apprehensive about the 96 miles, it’s a limitless further than the furthest I’ve covered in one day before, it starts in the dark at 2AM and we have a deadline to be at Blackheath! I am looking forwards to it hugely though. The route is here: Hero Ride Route so you can picture where we will be riding, and of course it’s all about raising money for the great work the charity does so if you want you can donate via my online page at Bmycharity
Thanks for reading
Simon
