Easter weekend, what does that mean to you? Chocolate? Church? DIY? A few days off work? For me this Easter Weekend so far has meant fundraising, family, Flanders, yes and chocolate! So this is the first of a couple of posts about this weekend.
Thursday was NHS Sustainability Day and at work they had a stand set up to highlight how people could save energy & what people could do to reduce the Trust’s energy bill. Outside they had arranged for a local not for profit community project called Cranks to bring their Bike Hospital to the Hospital to fix minor problems for members of staff who cycle to work and publicise their DIY Bike Workshops.
Also present were two PCSO’s from Sussex Police who were there to talk to people about cycle security and security mark bikes, including mine.
For more info about Cycle Security check out this video from the Met Police.
I joined in on the bike theme by doing a 3&half hour turbo trainer session with a collecting bucket out for donations. In that 3 hours I collected a fantastic £87.74 and did my legs the power of good after a couple of weeks of not getting out on the bike because of the weather. Thanks to everyone who donated & thanks for reading.
